Gubagoo Alternative for Car Dealerships
Gubagoo is a strong platform with real depth in dealership chat and online buying, and for some stores it’s the right call. This page lays out what it’s great at, where Dealer Funnel differs, and how to decide, using only what each vendor says publicly. No mudslinging.
GUBAGOO FACTS: THEIR OWN PUBLIC MATERIALS, ACCESSED AUG 2026
Gubagoo turns your site into a storefront
Its signature is managed 24/7 live chat (human specialists plus Guba IQ AI) and serious end-to-end digital retailing, Virtual Retailing powers online deal-building and Asbury's Clicklane. It is now part of Reynolds & Reynolds.
Dealer Funnel works the whole conversation
Every channel in one team inbox, Carly answers new leads by text, Voice AI picks up the phones, reps work calls on a built-in soft phone, and a deal board carries trades, in-stock units, and figures.
So it's really one question
Do you want the strongest online-buying storefront, or the tool built to work every lead across text, voice, and the deal? Answer that and the choice mostly makes itself.
What Gubagoo is great at
Per gubagoo.com (accessed Aug 2026), Gubagoo made its name on managed dealership live chat, a 24/7 team of human chat specialists who work conversations on the dealer’s behalf, now paired with an AI layer (Guba IQ) trained on automotive. On top of that sits genuinely deep website messaging (live inventory inside chat, behavior-based greeters, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Apple and Google messaging) and serious end-to-end digital retailing, its Virtual Retailing handles trade valuation, real-time lender decisions, F&I menus, and online plus in-store desking, and powers Asbury Automotive’s Clicklane.
If your first priority is turning your website into a place people can build and fund a deal, or you want a done-for-you 24/7 chat team, Gubagoo belongs on your shortlist, and its tight Reynolds integration is a real advantage for Reynolds stores. We’d rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
Where Dealer Funnel differs
Gubagoo lives on the website and in the online deal. Dealer Funnel lives in the sales conversation, wherever it happens. Every channel lands in one team inbox, Carly answers new leads by text in seconds around the clock, Voice AI picks up the phones, and reps work live calls on a built-in soft phone, none of which appears in Gubagoo’s materials (its voice is call-tracking integration, not an answering AI or a rep phone).
It goes deeper on the sales deal, too: a deal board with trades, in-stock units, and figures your reps manage, plus bulk texting and Google review management that Gubagoo’s public materials don’t describe. And the terms are different, pricing published at $1,249 to $2,895 per rooftop per month, month to month, with a free data export you can take with you, where Gubagoo publishes no pricing and runs an auto-renewing contract. And in the Dealer Terms we reviewed (Aug 2026), Gubagoo grants itself a broad license to your data, with no customer export right that we could find.
Side by side, from public materials
These two overlap on chat and video but diverge on voice, the deal, and follow-up. Where Gubagoo’s public materials don’t mention something, we say so instead of guessing.

In the Gubagoo column, “not publicly listed” means we could not find the capability in their public materials as of Aug 2026. It never means the capability doesn’t exist. In the Dealer Funnel column it simply means we don’t offer it. Vendors evolve; check their site, and tell us if something here is out of date. We’ll keep this honest.
